Using the same CL password for each account created (and created one after another).
2.) Same IP used when creating accounts
3.) Activating a phone verified account and NOT using it within 48 hours.

All of the above create red-flags with Craigslist and the accounts can be at risk for deletion.

You need to make sure each account is as unique as possible by implementing the following 4 variations:

1.) Do not ever use the same password for each account
2.) Do not verify each account one after the other. This creates a pattern.
3.) DO try to post as each account is created.
4.) Use different IPs when creating each account.

Look What Others Are Doing....

Looking what other people are doing is the best way to make sure your ads "stick" and do not get ghosted on Craigslist.

The craigslist police are bigger and badder than ever before, and its truly become a cat and mouse game.

Utilize the tactics mentioned in my ebook. Create as much variation as possible. But ultimately -- look at someones ad and see if they have a similar ad in another city. With CL's new updates, everything else is obsolete and outdated. The guy who created Admaster keeps up with the changes

Admaster simply uses the same things as mentioned in my ebook.. only it automates the process.

Check out their forum. I've seen that changing IP every 3 posts is also possible, but be careful. Start out with complete variation with all variables, and then work to cut parts out of your process to see what you can get away with .

To change your modem you either need a.) A dialup, b.) A Cellular Modem (Available at Cell Phone stores)

Posting on CL has never been more difficult. The only way to automate my techniques is to purchase LivingEasySoftware's product, called Admaster. It does all of my techniques for you. I feel I owe it to everyone. I do not know why. I feel that my last version of PowerPosting could be improved upon.

To be quite honest, I didn't use the PowerPosting tactics for some time, but recently I've decided to use them again.

I've done some research on IP changing and I even bought a modem that allows me to disconnect and reset my IP. Its a cellular "aircard" which enables me to change IP frequently.

I took the day off of work, and played with it.

This morning I wasn't able to get any of my posts to stick.

It scared me. I posted with the aircard and changed by IP.

I used an autoposter and seperate emails (NO CL accounts).

I think what I lacked was:

A.) The filenames of my images were all the same, I didn't COMPLETELY rename them with each upload.

B.) The autoposter may have gone too fast.

C.) I didn't add enough white content.

I recommend adding a LOT of white content. I am talking like 2-3 paragraphs. Just go to wikipedia and grab the content.

I know this to be true because I later on tonight posted with complete success in 5 cities in a row.

I started out with a clean slate by making sure to vary EVERYTHING. That is how I test -- I start out being very broad with my experiments (making sure all variables are open) and then slowly cut corners to see what is making the ads not show.

I had success tonight by NOT changing the IP but actually using the PowerPosting technique that I've written about. So -- my book may NOT be out of date as I feared.

I successfully posted 5 ads with a craigslist account and cleared my cookies each time. I also made sure to ad tons of white content.

Tmw I will try to expand this. Perhaps all this IP-changing stuff is just a scare..
<img width='1' height='1' Part of me thinks that they can somehow scan the images to see if there are duplicates, even if they are DIFFERENT images but look the same.

So I suggest to all of you that you put a QUOTE on your page. Using quotes or miscellaneous text is a classic trick that many have done for some time. Combining it with the PowerPosting process it is rather simple and creates a powerful process with ads that stick.

Just go to this site: http://www.brainyquote.com/

And grab a quote that is fitting for your ad.

For every new ad you post or repost, try using a new quote.

Yes this does seem tedious, but in reality it is a simple cut and paste, and once you have your initial ads set up you can simply paste in the quote when posting AND when REPOSTING.

Adding variation when REPOSTING seems unimportant, but I believe that you must do this.. otherwise some ads are NOT showing, according to some. I am testing this as we seapk.

Tonight I've successfully posted around 10 ads, that are all showing, they all have UNIQUE images (but same looking) and all have quotes.

In some i've experimented with creating a black HTML frame around my image, but I also saw that the quote doesn't look so bad without being hidden. Just make it related to your product! If you are selling an artistic product, add an artistic quote!

It is well worth it in the end...

Email me at clpptest@gmail.com to tell me how this goes. It is a hassle, yes, but it allows my technique to still work.

Ads Not Showing?

I've noticed that recently sometimes ads do not show in certain cities.

I am working hard to figure this out.

Most of the time, it seems ads DO show.

Take into consideration the following factors when posting. Any of these could put up red flags.:

1.) IP address (Not sure if this is a huge factor with small amount of "powerposted" marketing)
2.) Cookies on your computer (Not sure if this is a huge factor)
3.) The frequency of your postings -- how quickly you are doing them one after another.
4.) The HOSTING of your image.
5.) The anonymous email address option - turned off, on, or leave out..

I am currently seeing success with my postings when I do not make my email anonymous (via craigslist). My images are hosted on my godaddy.com server. I am not sure how successful Photobucket still is, yet.. I am still pretty sure it DOES work.

I am going to test this further and should have more results soon.

When testing, you must consider many factors at once.. almost like addressing symptoms of an illness.

My product was designed to work around CL filters, but, as they change their filtering, SOME issues will and do arise. I will do my best to keep you all posted.

But for the most part, my process still seems to work..

Photobucket Not Working?

If photobucket is not working, use a more low key image hosting site. Is it possible to get to craigslist without a proxy? I think so, but to be honest, I do not know.

If you are viewing this blog from overseas, please post something in the comments section of this post.

If your account has been banned, you can use a proxy to get past this. I do not know much about proxies because I've never used one.

Another alternative is to use a dial up modem to do your postings. That way you have no IP issues to worry about.

A Bit on Adult Areas and Invisible Text

If you post in the adult areas, you may find that CL is a bit more agressive in their removals.

I am not sure if they'll delete the posts done with the PP technique, but it is MUCH more likely to see postings flagged by CL users in this area.

I see that most people in the adult areas are using the INVISIBLE TEXT trick. This is mentioned in my book. You can see when posts are using this by highlighting the bottom portons of their ads. Many have tiny white text here. This is what they use to make their postings unique. They are extracted from a large info source, like a encyclopedia.

I think this technique is much more common than my technique. I'd say that this technique combined with an autoposter and catchall is how most people are doing this.

If you want to use invisible words, you can prep a bunch of files with random stuff entered inside of this code:

<f e="1" color="snow">
You can tell which postings are using invisible code by highlighting the bottom of the postings.

I cannot do mcuh tech support on this area as I do not know much about it...

PS

CL needs to be researched and kept up with. Please stay in tune with it if you want succcess with it. It can be a frustrating place at times.. I have people come to me whining about why their posts are not working, why they are not selling, etc. Do my process right. Do your ad right. And have a good product / service.

You NEED a captivating ad. You NEED a website. You need to do it right. Its not a quick fix.

I do not want to discuss this sort of thing via email because I do not know much about it. So please research it yourself. Craigslist takes patience and research.</f>

So, how do I know if my ad is staff deleted or flagged/deleted by Craigslist's users?

I thought this might be interesting to bring up:

How does one know if their ad is deleted by a staff bot or by the users of Craigslist?

Its easy. To tell if its staff deleted you will see that all your ads were deleted at once.

What makes them get staff deleted? DUPLICATE content or an outbound link url that triggers them to delete. That is why they all need to be unique, as described in the ebook.

To tell if its been flagged by users of Craigslist, you will see the ads get removed individually.

The Skinny on URL Redirects

Hello All ~

Welcome to this blog. I've created this to be able to allow the users (of my ebook) to be informed of any last minute changes to my ebook or techniques. And ... there are certainly some. Otherwise I would not be writing this.

The main reason I am posting this first entry is to state that the IceURL re-directs that I mentioned in CraigslistPowerPosting 2.0 are NO LONGER WORKING. So I do NOT recommend using IceURL. If you do use it, you will see that your posts will be deleted shortly after you post them.

For a surefire route on having your posts stay on Craigslist, I recommend NOT using any sort of outbound link. If you choose to, find one somewhere on the internet that you think many other Craigslisters are not using. Test it out. I know some work because I have an ad up right now that hasn't been deleted.

I know this is hard for some of you to accept... but its just the way that Craigslist works. They have never liked outbound links. If you are posting one ad, you can have an outbound link. But if you are posting duplicate ads/links, their bots will immediately see the same outbound link twice and they will not like you.. and will likely delete the ads.

I recommend simply creating a compelling ad and allowing customers to email you. Not the sales pitch that many marketers are used to. I recommend having a clever ad created by a good graphic designer. This should cost you between 35 - 100 bucks (in the US). If you choose to outsource, it will be far less.

Or utilize your own creativity and create something that does not look junky. Either way, show off your talents in a witty way without the sales pitch. For some reason I feel that long pitches hurt you on CL. Perhaps put the bulk of the sales pitch in the autoresponder's email.

From my own personal experience, I was able to gain customers to my service just by visually selling them my services via my ad. I had examples of my work within my ad. I think at this point you're realizing that I am in the creative field. You are right.

So make your ad good. If its interesting enough, people will be motivated to send you a brief email.

Or, buy a domain that is memorable and do it the old fashioned way and place the URL within your image based ad. If they want your product enough, they will gather up the energy to simply type in the URL in the URL bar.

After all, it worked for me quite well.

So please, save your Craigslist energy for the times when you have a good product / service that can sell itself well through an ad verses an agressive sales pitch. I dont know if CL is the place for this.
