I've heard that many people from outside of the US use a proxy to get to Craigslist. Is it possible to get to craigslist without a proxy? I think so, but to be honest, I do not know.
If you are viewing this blog from overseas, please post something in the comments section of this post.
If your account has been banned, you can use a proxy to get past this. I do not know much about proxies because I've never used one.
Another alternative is to use a dial up modem to do your postings. That way you have no IP issues to worry about.

A Bit on Adult Areas and Invisible Text
If you post in the adult areas, you may find that CL is a bit more agressive in their removals.
I am not sure if they'll delete the posts done with the PP technique, but it is MUCH more likely to see postings flagged by CL users in this area.
I see that most people in the adult areas are using the INVISIBLE TEXT trick. This is mentioned in my book. You can see when posts are using this by highlighting the bottom portons of their ads. Many have tiny white text here. This is what they use to make their postings unique. They are extracted from a large info source, like a encyclopedia.
I think this technique is much more common than my technique. I'd say that this technique combined with an autoposter and catchall is how most people are doing this.
If you want to use invisible words, you can prep a bunch of files with random stuff entered inside of this code:

You can tell which postings are using invisible code by highlighting the bottom of the postings.
I cannot do mcuh tech support on this area as I do not know much about it...
PS
CL needs to be researched and kept up with. Please stay in tune with it if you want succcess with it. It can be a frustrating place at times.. I have people come to me whining about why their posts are not working, why they are not selling, etc. Do my process right. Do your ad right. And have a good product / service.
You NEED a captivating ad. You NEED a website. You need to do it right. Its not a quick fix.
I do not want to discuss this sort of thing via email because I do not know much about it. So please research it yourself. Craigslist takes patience and research.

So, how do I know if my ad is staff deleted or flagged/deleted by Craigslist's users?
I thought this might be interesting to bring up:
How does one know if their ad is deleted by a staff bot or by the users of Craigslist?
Its easy. To tell if its staff deleted you will see that all your ads were deleted at once.
What makes them get staff deleted? DUPLICATE content or an outbound link url that triggers them to delete. That is why they all need to be unique, as described in the ebook.
To tell if its been flagged by users of Craigslist, you will see the ads get removed individually.

The Skinny on URL Redirects
Hello All ~
Welcome to this blog. I've created this to be able to allow the users (of my ebook) to be informed of any last minute changes to my ebook or techniques. And ... there are certainly some. Otherwise I would not be writing this.
The main reason I am posting this first entry is to state that the IceURL re-directs that I mentioned in CraigslistPowerPosting 2.0 are NO LONGER WORKING. So I do NOT recommend using IceURL. If you do use it, you will see that your posts will be deleted shortly after you post them.
For a surefire route on having your posts stay on Craigslist, I recommend NOT using any sort of outbound link. If you choose to, find one somewhere on the internet that you think many other Craigslisters are not using. Test it out. I know some work because I have an ad up right now that hasn't been deleted.
I know this is hard for some of you to accept... but its just the way that Craigslist works. They have never liked outbound links. If you are posting one ad, you can have an outbound link. But if you are posting duplicate ads/links, their bots will immediately see the same outbound link twice and they will not like you.. and will likely delete the ads.
I recommend simply creating a compelling ad and allowing customers to email you. Not the sales pitch that many marketers are used to. I recommend having a clever ad created by a good graphic designer. This should cost you between 35 - 100 bucks (in the US). If you choose to outsource, it will be far less.
Or utilize your own creativity and create something that does not look junky. Either way, show off your talents in a witty way without the sales pitch. For some reason I feel that long pitches hurt you on CL. Perhaps put the bulk of the sales pitch in the autoresponder's email.
From my own personal experience, I was able to gain customers to my service just by visually selling them my services via my ad. I had examples of my work within my ad. I think at this point you're realizing that I am in the creative field. You are right.
So make your ad good. If its interesting enough, people will be motivated to send you a brief email.
Or, buy a domain that is memorable and do it the old fashioned way and place the URL within your image based ad. If they want your product enough, they will gather up the energy to simply type in the URL in the URL bar.
After all, it worked for me quite well.
So please, save your Craigslist energy for the times when you have a good product / service that can sell itself well through an ad verses an agressive sales pitch. I dont know if CL is the place for this.
